On January 1,1992, the Government of the Commonwealth
of the Bahamas abolished import duties on several items sold
in the Bahamas. These items are listed as follows: Perfumes
and Fragrances, Crystal, Leather Goods, Jewelry, Fine Linens
and Tablecloths, Watches and Clocks, Photographic Equipment,
China, Binoculars, and Telescopes. The savings on these items
is as much as 25 to 50 percent. Below are some favorite shopping
spots to purchase these articles and also some fine arts and
crafts available only in the Bahamas.
